Belmont University College of Music and Performing Arts Wind Ensemble

Join the Belmont University Concert Band and Wind Ensemble and conductor Barry Kraus in the Fisher Center on November 8 at 7:30 pm for a performance titled Stories of Light. The Concert Band will perform John Frantzen’s rhythmic overture Euphoria, Jocelyn Hagen’s solemn Hymn to St. Teresa, and David Maslanka’s overture Illumination. The Wind Ensemble program includes David Biedenbender’s shimmering work Luminescence, Michael Gandolfi’s colorful variations on the traditional tune Spagnoletta — Flourishes and Meditations on a Renaissance Theme, Ricardo Lorenz’s El Muro — a metaphorical story of migrant resilience, and Frank Ticheli’s Angels in the Architecture —an epic tale of light featuring student soprano Lauren Miles. Guest conductors include Greg Snyder and George Shanon.
